OBSERVATION OF ENAMEL CONTAINING S-HAM
-
DRYING: Use of S-HAM speeds up drying of the system when applied on the Surface.
TECHNICAL EXPLANATION
S-HAM contains some specialty chemicals which form Azeotropic mixture due to which solvent release is accelerated, resulting in faster drying.

GLOSS: Gloss of the film remains unchanged.
TECHNICAL EXPLANATION
Addition of S-HAM improves the leveling property and a smooth film like sunmica is obtained. Smooth surface reflects light to a great extent and hence the gloss, even though Alkyds solids are reduced.

COVERING: No decrease in covering capacity is observed.
TECHNICAL EXPLANATION
In normal condition, when you increase the final yield without increasing the pigment, reduction in covering is observed as % of pigment goes down. Special
wetting agents incorporated in S-HAM permit the system to achieve the same
covering without any extra pigment as it promotes better dispersion of the pigment.
